My Why

Let’s Start with Why. During the summer of 2014 I picked up my first DSLR camera, nerd talk up ahead, Digital Single Reflex! Yes, I know very nerdy. When I was blessed with this big black box with a 50mm lens on it, I didn’t fully understand where this was going to lead me. Well, I am here to say that it was the best decision I ever made after taking the first photo. I looked at the back of the screen and saw the quality of the green leaves with fresh morning dew on it, I was sold. It is wonderful to know that God’s essence, his attributes are embedded into us, and in order for those attributes to shine, there are specific tools that we can use to activate them. The camera in my case has become an extension of myself and how I perceive the world. I find beauty in things that most people take for granted, and overtime I’ve taken images of many varieties of subjects to finally arrive at one that brings me the most joy. Being an active father of two beautiful children, The act of capturing the developing personalities and unique styles of our little ones in the world is priceless. They are free in their spirit, so every time I have the opportunity to capture them in their adventurous expeditions of curiosity, the pleasure is mine. My ultimate why, is the pure fact that I can use my God given gift to help our young children build high self esteem, learn to accept their so called “flaws” as unique and proprietary to only them. As a photographer, I want make sure my subjects continue to love themselves more and more after they depart from me. THAT IS MY WHY!
